   The King of England and many throughout the world in 1776, probably thought 13 was an unlucky number. Many people still fear or dread the number 13. The number 13 carries the meaning of apostasy, revolt and revolution. It is no wonder why many think it is an "unlucky" number. But what is luck?

LUCK (noun)

1. events that are beyond control and seem subject to chance; fortune
2. success or good fortune
3. something considered to bring good luck
4. down on one's luck  having little or no good luck to the point of suffering hardships
5. informal no such luck  unfortunately not
6. try one's luck  to attempt something that is uncertain

  The number thirteen also carries another meaning - "atonement" or what I like to think of as "at-one-ment." Aren't WE supposed to be one?
